Would you take the same career path that Steve Jobs took? Why or why not?

"We didn't do three years of research and come up with this concept. What we did was following our own instincts and constructs a computer that was what we wanted."

- Steve Jobs in Fire in the Valley
Pirates of Silicon Valley is a 1999 film based on the book Fire in the Valley: The Making of The Personal Computer by Paul Freiberger and Michael Swaine. It is a made-for-television docudrama written and directed by Martyn Burke which documents the rise of the home computer (personal computer) through the rivalry between Apple Computer and Microsoft.
Steve Jobs is a guy with great dreams in life. Good, yes, he is definitely an inspiration. He became the CEO of Apple Computers. And his company was given birth out of Berkley in the days of beards and love beads. With his hard work together with Steve Wozniak, he had made Apple as the most number one company that guarantees good computers. But as time goes by, Steve Jobs has shown changes with his attitude. Seeing him as an acid-ripper, drug-user and hippie was not new at all. But the effect of their dosages has turn Jobs into an abusive employer, primal screamer, demanding and deadbeat dad. In turn karma has been hitting his back. In a way that he never notices that IBM Company was doing inside job anomaly with their connection that leads to the alliance of Apple Computers and Microsoft.
Bill Gates: Success is a menace. It fools smart people into thinking they can't lose.

As I read this line I have settled my mind not to follow the road in which Steve Job has take. Why?
  •  He is too arrogant to be a rich man.
Even from the start when there was a computer expo, at that moment Apple Computers was not that popular. It was the time when he shows his weakness side, being blinded by fame and wealth. He ignored the presence of Bill Gates who was just introducing his self as the unknown CEO of Microsoft. And never notice or even think of asking about what Microsoft is all about.

  •  He is not worth it to be respect by people around him.
When Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were just starting to sell their little cute computer, I can clearly remember these lines from them:
Steve Wozniak: Where's your beard?
Steve Jobs: In the bathroom sink. I shaved it off.
Steve Wozniak: Well, how come?
Steve Jobs: 'Cause banks don't like beards.

In this part, Steve Jobs made me amaze with the way he shows his eagerness to be a respectable person and at the same time he knows how to lower his pride as a human. For in fact, what bank would dare to let him loan money with the unpleasant and cannot be trusted aura. Suddenly, when he became a rich man everything in the past becomes part of his artificial enrichment to the world. He pays to the bank with beard in the lower lip and wearing short cut-jeans. It cannot be called the simplicity of a person because as people tolerated him it seems like he loves the way he wears like that. He used to come at the office without proper attire or just a simple formal long jean. Yes funny to be watched but I feel it more like disputable.
  •  He is a self-centered person.
He was abusive in a way when he yells at everybody just to work more and more. He only thinks of the development of the company and never cared for what would people around him feels. He keeps telling everyone to concentrate on their works and stop having fun but, in contrast, he was the on who makes fun all the time when he feel stresses. He keeps on having meditation in way of administering drugs into his body until he gets self destruct. Steve Jobs minds only for his own survival.
  •  He is so careless.
Steve becomes so careless with all the success he had reached. At first he was good and even wiser on maintaining the growth of his company. All of a sudden, it was blown up like a bubble; gone in the air. One main reason for that is his being self destruct. He tends to forget to give much focus on his connection with other companies. Another is that he was too confident that no one can deceive his victory. That’s why Bill Gates had succeeded to take all the control of his company. But no matter what, he was enlightened at the latter part.
  •  He does not know the real meaning of love.
As a person, it is by nature that the gift of love was given. His girlfriend, despite the fact that he becomes a rich man does not take the chances to gain profit from him or get a share from his success. If truth be told, the girl was very supportive with all the steps he does. Out of blue, Steve became so insensitive. Refusing the gift from God, a baby carried by his girlfriend. He doesn’t even let the girl explain and talk to him regarding her pregnancy, what he did was to reject the girl’s complaint.

Those are the main reasons why I decided not to follow his steps. But I’m not saying that I’m following the road of Bill Gates. I acknowledge the success of the both of them. One thing that discourages me is that both of them have made a trick to outwit each other and even do software piracy just to provide their selves the frustration of success. I would sounds hypocrite if I don’t admit that I also aim for success but then, that doesn’t mean that I have to be in a hurry to overtake someone or even outsmart once knowledge and to pirate someone’s work. I guess a moderate driving in the road of success would possibly lead me to the satisfactorily place of success. And I would prepare to make my own ways to be successful in life rather than following the steps of other people. Because the road of life was not made to look back the past instead it was for us to keep on moving forward. So whatever is waiting for me or us in the future road, let’s just be patient and trust everything to HIM. God will always be a provider of a good path.
